I’m a US
Army Gulf War disabled veteran who’s starting this business to offer mobile
smog to the elderly, disabled, single-parents, working professionals and anyone
else who could benefit from mobile smog. I’m a disabled veteran myself so I
know how hard it is to get to one of the conventional locations and have to
wait in line.
Air
pollution is a serious public health and environmental issue in the Las Vegas
Valley. Both stationary and mobile sources of pollution – vehicles and industry
and commercial operations – continue to contribute to air quality issues. Some
toxic chemicals released in the air, such as benzene or vinyl chloride, are
highly toxic and can cause cancer, birth defects, long term injury to the
lungs, as well as brain and nerve damage.
Go Green
Mobile Emission Service offers a brand new concept in smog services for
individuals who don't have the time to go to a traditional emissions location.
Mobile emission testing will give you, the consumers, the time back to spend
with your family and friends. This service comes to the individual and saves
time for the consumers in the areas where emission testing is required.
However,
because of the current NRS regulations the DMV is saying this service isn't
allowed, but after reading the NRS regulations, I can’t find anywhere in the
regulations that says this service can’t be offered to the consumers. NRS
445B.710 states “Authorized Inspection Station” defined – means a station
licensed by the Department of Motor Vehicles for inspecting motor vehicles and
devices for the control of pollution for compliance with this chapter or any
applicable federal regulation or regulation of the Commission. This petition is intended to help get the
current NRS regulations changed to allow for this service.
